Ingredients

  • 4 ripe banana, sliced
  • 1 quart ice cream
  • 2 cup Graham Cracker Crust
  • 1 cup strawberry sauce
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple
  • ½ cup chocolate sauce, drizzled between layers
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • ½ cup chopped nut
  • cherries, for garnish

Instructions

  • Step1.Preparation of Graham Cracker Crust
    1. Finely grind the graham crackers either by using a food processor or by putting the crackers in a ziplock bag and rolling over them using a rolling pin.
    2. Mix the melted butter and sugar into crumbs. Then mix until coated.
    3. Press the mixture down evenly on the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form a crust.
    4. Let the crust set for 10 minutes before adding additional layers.
  • Step2. First Layer of Vanilla Ice Cream
Just take the vanilla ice cream and let it come to room temperature for a few minutes so it softens up a bit.
    1. Using your graham cracker crust, place a thick, even layer of vanilla ice cream on top.
    2. Put the pan back into the freezer and let it firm up for 20-30 minutes before you continue.
  • Step3. Banana and Strawberry Sauce Layer
Once your vanilla ice cream has firmed up, it is time to add a fruity layer.
    1. Slices of banana should be arranged over the vanilla ice cream layer.
    2. Strawberry sauce should be drizzled over the bananas, filling the gaps with the sauce.
  • Step 4. Adding the chocolate ice cream Layer
    1.  Let your chocolate ice cream soft out for about 5 minutes.
    2. Spread over evenly another layer of the chocolate ice cream over the bananas with a layer of strawberry sauce above it.
    3. Return the layer to freeze until totally hard for about another 20-30 minutes.
  • Step 5. Top with Crushed Pineapple and Chocolate Sauce
    1. When the chocolate ice cream is set, spread the crushed pineapple over the top evenly.
    2. Add another layer of chocolate sauce for an extra sweet touch.
Ensure that the pineapple is very well drained before it's incorporated so there isn't excess moisture which might cause the cake to become soggy.
  • Step 6. Last Touch: Whipped Cream, Nuts, and Cherries
The finishing touches make this cake look like a real banana split.
     1. Top with whipped cream, either dollops or piped in swirls for a decorative effect
    2. over chopped nuts scattered over the whipped cream for added crunch.
    3. Put some cherries on top as a garnish.
